Hotham Street Ladies Recipe Swap Meet

The Hotham Street Ladies will take over The Panama Dining Room for a Sunday afternoon and recipe swapping and book making.

Bring along your favorite food, cocktail or drink recipe, household hints, old wives tales, entertainment tips and etiquette or lifestyle advice. The Hotham Street Ladies will collect them and turn them into a fabulous recipe and story-book for each person to take home on the day, free.

Submission Details
Submissions can be emailed by Wednesday 17th November, or in hard copy on the day. Email to hothamstreetladies@gmail.com

You may want to set out your page, with images, fabulous type setting or charming hand-writing. If so, please note that the book will be A5, single sided, bound in the top left-hand corner so please leave space for a hole punch. It's best if recipes are submitted to scale with a print border of approximately 1cm. A pdf would probably be the safest file option so things don’t move around.

Great Expectations, the Miss Havisham Cake (Show Cake II) was disqualified from the Show for being in poor taste, but we will definately be publicly displaying it - stay tuned, details to follow.

The craft event of the year is upon us in the form of the Decorated Cake Competition at the Royal Melbourne Show and once again, the Hotham Street Ladies have submitted a cake entry.

To catch the cake come along and to the Arts & Crafts Pavilion sometime between Saturday 18th September to Tuesday 28th September at Melbourne Showgrounds.

The Hotham Street Ladies would like to thank the Cake Stewards and the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria for the opportunity to be involved.

Hotham Street Ladies are currently featuring in The High Life at Sarti as part of the melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Please come to the closing party on Tuesday the 23rd, starting at Sarti at 5.30 and then walking to other sites.

The High Life is a series of rooftop art projects curated by West Space that will be a feature of this year’s Melbourne Food + Wine Festival. The Festival invited West Space to work with contemporary artists to present artworks that reflect upon themes initiated in this yea...r’s festival keynote project ‘The Metlink Edible Garden’. West Space has commissioned eight artists to make new work that responds to ideas around plants and gardens, food sustainability, urban landscapes and environmental concerns more broadly.Working across some of Melbourne’s best-loved rooftops for the duration of the festival, the artists have also responded to the unique flavour of each establishment. How will artists interpret the hunter/gatherer ethos at Sarti Bar and Restaurant, or the flamboyant cheekiness of Madam Brussels?
